Description Johan 2009-01-19 22:50:20 UTC
Version: 1.10.3 (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27-9-generic

This bug happens when I click (open) a certain mail message. As I cannot open the message I'm uncertain as to why it happens on this message. But it's a large message (4MB) . However, other larger messages can be opened.

As you can reproduce the crash at will, may you read http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports and post a complete backtrace here? Thanks :)

OK, I'm new to kubuntu but I've downloaded kdepim-dbg now and guess the backtrace below is more useful? If you contact me directly on my email I can probably get the guy that sent me this mail send you a copy also and maybe you can repeat the crash locally.

Thanks for the help!

As you are able to reproduce it at will.
Let the developers check with you if they can solve this bug.

New crash information added by DrKonqi

KMail / Kontact crashed not only when opening new mail (with winmail.dat "attachment"), but it crashed every time trying to open that mail (i have to open it trough webmail).

The "problematic" email is about 725 kB , has the winmail.dat "attachment" (application/ms-tnef), which contains these files:
EmbeddedRTF.rtf 37 k [ application/rtf ] (formated email body itself)
image001.png 149 k [ image/png ]
image002.jpg 1.6 k [ image/jpeg ]
AUTH_Sevitech_plán_práce_01052010_31052010.mpp 353 k [ application/vnd.ms-project ]

Thank you for your report. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained and the code has changed sufficiently in Kmail2 so the backtraces are not really useful anymore. Should you experience the same crash in Kmail 4.8.5 or later, please open a new report for Kmail2. Thank you for your understanding
