Description Christian González 2009-01-18 20:33:12 UTC
Version: 3.0 beta 4 (Sheldon) using KDE 4.1.4 (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Using KDE 4.1.4 (please update bugs.kde.org - you can't select this version at the beginning!) and adept 3.0 beta 4, i did the following, on a fresh Kubuntu Intrepid with all updates, as described at
http://www.kubuntu.org/news/amarok-2.0.1.1

1. add the line
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu intrepid main
with adept to your 3rt party repos.

2. try to search for "amarok-kde4" in adept - it doesn't find it!
3. You can type "apt-get install amarok-k[tab]" and it autocompletes it at the CLI to the right package.

If I made a config error please tell me, but otherwise this is serious.

This is because the xapian index is not rebuilt after a new repo is added. As a workaround you can run sudo update-apt-xapian-index

Adept is upstream dead nowadays. It has been sucessfully replaced by alternatives like Apper and Muon.
I think anybody cares about this bug today, thereore the bug could be closed.

Adept has been in the unmaintained state for a few years. Use muon[1] as replacement .
