Description Mike Hurst 2009-01-15 23:14:20 UTC
Version: 0.60.82 (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

Kopete crashes every time I shutdown using KDE 4.1.96 (KDE 4.2 RC1). I do have the MSN plugin enabled.

Try changing the plasma theme to "Aya" or another non-"Oxygen" one and after restarting the whole KDE (or the PC) see if Kopete crashes on shutdown (you have to shutdown 2 times)
If it doesn't crash after changing to another Plasma theme, this is another know bug.
Thanks :)
Comment 2 Mike Hurst 2009-01-16 01:30:54 UTC
I changed the theme to clenlooks and it still crashes.
Comment 3 Dario Andres 2009-01-16 01:36:09 UTC
@Mike: I didn't mean the Widget Style (Oxygen/Cleanlooks/Plastique/...) but the Plasma Theme (Oxygen/Aya/Heron/Slim Glow).
In order to change the Plasma Theme you need to do right click in the desktop, go to "Appearance Settings", and the select the "Plasma Theme" from the "Theme:" combobox :)
Thanks
Comment 4 Mike Hurst 2009-01-16 01:50:43 UTC
Oh sorry. I did switch to AYA and it no longer crashes. Is this bug going to be fixed before KDE 4.2 is released?
Comment 5 Dario Andres 2009-01-16 01:52:54 UTC
Already fixed for KDE4.2 and 4.3 ;)

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 179978 ***
Comment 6 Dario Andres 2009-01-16 01:53:43 UTC
Well it's not a duplicate of bug 179978. But this is fixed as longer as bug 179978 is fixed :)
Comment 7 Richard Hartmann 2009-01-16 08:38:43 UTC
It's a duplicate as the _cause_ is the same while the _effect_ is different.

If bugzilla knew something between 'no relationship at all' and 'duplicate' you would be right, though.
