Description Jurian Sluiman 2009-01-15 12:29:18 UTC
Version: 1.11.0 (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

I use keyboard shortcuts a lot in KMail. Default, if I want to reply to a message, I press 'r'. The composer window pops up and I conclude I should have pressed 'a' for 'Reply to all' instead. This happens to me very often.

I looked at a friend using Gmail and found a very useful function. Above the textarea to compose a message, there are two links. One 'Reply' and another 'Reply to all'. You can switch from one to another *after* you've chosen already to do one the reply methods.

*Design suggestion*
For usability aspects, it must be very convenient to use. Therefore I've already a design suggestion to make the function as clear as possible.

Current layout: There are three columns. One with a drop down menu (To, CC, BCC), one with an input field for the email address and some empty space with buttons 'Select' (always visible after the last empty input field) and 'Save list' (only visible when you have multiple email addresses entered).

Suggested layout: The same as above, except the button 'Reply to all' if you're replying and 'Reply to sender' if you're replying to all. This button could be placed after the first email address in the third column. There is always some empty space at the first row, third column, which could be used for this function.

The composer window will be some more cluttered but I think the improvement of the function can justify this.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
