Description Öyvind Saether 2009-01-14 20:47:00 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

I currently have two tabs open in Konqueror.

One with http://slashdot.org/ open. I can use [ctrl]+[+] and [ctrl]+[-] to increase/decrease the font size in _this_ tab.

The other tab has open
http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=1091947
and the same keyboard shortcuts [ctrl]+[+] and [ctrl]+[-] give this message on this tab:

"The key sequence 'Ctrl++' is ambiguous. Use 'Configure Shortcuts' from the 'Settings' menu to solve the ambiguity. No action will be triggered."

This also always happens on http://www.vg.no/ but the shortcut typically works on articles there such as http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=539769

I have no idea WHY keyboard shortcuts "randomly" FAIL to work in Konqueror -- but it DOES seem to depend on what website is visited.

I'm using 4.1.96.

It's not just ctrl++ and ctrl+- that FAILS.

1. Open a tab with a WWW text file such as http://gentoo.everdot.org/misc/FAIL.txt
2. Press ctrl+t. "The key sequence 'Ctrl+T' is ambiguous. Use 'Configure Shortcuts' from the 'Settings' menu to solve the ambiguity.
No action will be triggered."
3. Press F5 to reload. "The key sequence 'F5' is ambiguous. Use 'Configure Shortcuts' from the 'Settings' menu to solve the ambiguity.
No action will be triggered."

I can confirm on the released 4.2 version. I can't figure out which circumstances lead to the popup as it seems somewhat random. When running several konquerors at the same time, not all show the same symptom. However all tabs in one window seem to be affected (hard to say as the problem goes away on switching tabs a few times).

Same for F3 (find next): When I hit / for "type to find", find the first occurrence, and then hit F3, I get this message as well.

In other documents, it can happen that / doesn't work, but F3 opens the search toolbar.

I have similar problems with ctrl-f/f3 in konqueror-4.2. sometimes only in one instance, while other konqueror windows work fine.

Same here for Ctrl+F (and Ctrl+U) in Konqueror.
Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0)
Konqueror: 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0)
I'm using Archlinux 64bit + kdemod

That should be fixed in trunk. Reopen if some keys still conflict in 4.3. The problem only existed on pages with frames. That's the trigger.

Each frame would register the shortcut. I found the problem and David Faure fixed them.
