Description Steffen Sobiech 2009-01-14 14:39:15 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Pasting files with Ctrl-V fails in freshly opened Dolphin windows, because the initial focus is on the address bar, and not on the folder view.

This problem occurs only if Dolphin is configured to display the address bar in new windows.

Could the initial focus be changed to the folder view instead? I think this would make copy-and-paste workflows which involve keyboard shortcuts more efficient (the way it is now you first have to switch focus to the folder view).

I agree, this should be fixed...
Comment 2 Shaun Reich 2009-01-16 21:38:08 UTC
But what about tabs? Should it also be applied to tabs? Because at the current state, new tabs are told to do the same thing. If we are to change this, don't you also think we should change it's stance on new tabs?

It seems in dolphin 2.0, the initial focus is on folder view in new window, but still on address bar in new tab.

Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
Comment 5 Emmanuel Pescosta 2012-11-09 19:14:16 UTC
Works for me in Dolphin 2.1 / KDE 4.9.3
Comment 6 Julian Steinmann 2018-01-03 16:29:33 UTC
This is now the default behavior in Dolphin v.17.12.0.

I think this can therefore be marked RESOLVED.
