Version: 0.60.82 (using Devel) OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled sources In the current rc1 of KDE4.2, kopete causes 100 wakeups/second (as reported by powertop): 55.1% (102.4) kopete : schedule_timeout (process_timeout)
Looks like the wakeups are caused by the libmsn-based wlm plugin. In the provided rc1-packages of my kubuntu intrepid this lib is apparently not compatible with rc1-version of kopete, and thus kopete has no msn support. It also does not cause any wakeups...
4.2.0 packages of kubuntu intrepid also do not show the wakeups, even though msn is online.
On gentoo kopete from 4.2.0 without msn: 13.6% (102.6) kopete : schedule_hrtimeout_range (hrtimer_wakeup) So the problem is still there.
also seeing this in 4.2.4 anything one can do to track this down? WORKSFORME is a pretty poor solution :-/
not an issue anymore for me in 4.3
I can confirm it with KDE SC 4.4.90: (104,4) kopete : hrtimer_start_range_ns (hrtimer_wakeup) I don't use msn plugin.
As for me, the problem seem to be in GoogleTalk account. After disabling it, kopete causes near to 4 wakeups: ( 4,0) kopete : hrtimer_start_range_ns (hrtimer_wakeup) The problem is not in jabber protocol/account, because I have other (non-GTalk) jabber acount enabled, and there is no problems with wakeups.
I can also confirm Igor's message. I get 104 kopete wakeups without MSN. Disabling my GTalk account drops them to 2.8. What's more interesting is that if I reopen GTalk (just the account, not kopete) the wakeups do not climb back to 100. I tried this several times with the same result. WORKSFORME is not exactly a solution as quite a few people have noticed this...
