Description manolis 2009-01-11 22:24:01 UTC
Version: pre 4.2 trunk (using Devel)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

I extracted some files, the operation probably went ok , but the notification in system tray says "Extracting file..." without the possibility to close it.
On every new notification of all kind, the old appears again , without any way to close it.
I did not restart kde, so the (I) icon is there. Any way I can help with more info?

It's not kopete bug, I selected notifications from categories and it put it as kopete problem.

Where you extracting a compressed file using Ark ?
Comment 3 manolis 2009-01-11 23:15:45 UTC
Yes, I used ark.
Comment 4 Dario Andres 2009-01-12 00:16:44 UTC
Were you extracting a big file? Does the extraction finished OK? (All the files were properly extracted?)
Comment 5 manolis 2009-01-12 10:25:51 UTC
It was a tar.gz about 5MB.
The thing is I used "Extract here..." though the extracted files were already there (from a previous extraction)...
From the extracted files there was a one file change.
So it asked me about overwriting... I think I pressed "skip" and the no message about the other files. The popup stayed there.
Comment 6 manolis 2009-01-13 21:57:28 UTC
Is there anyway to remove the icon ? (maybe kill some process?)
Comment 7 Dario Andres 2009-01-14 00:46:45 UTC
It shouldn't be there after extracting the file or after 10~secs after the file operation finishes..
Can you post a screenshot of the notification popup (it may contain some info)
Thanks

It seems the notifications are buggy in Ark
