Version: 2.0.1 (using 4.1.85 (KDE 4.1.85 (KDE 4.2 Beta2)), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27-11-generic The new "Organize files" dialog is great. There is a bug though: each time the dialog is displayed the custom format is reseted. This is annoying to recreate the custom format each time.
I can't reproduce this. Are you saying you have to drag the tokens to form a scheme each time you reopen the dialog?
Exactly.
Today I tried again and the format was kept between two dialog invocations. However, later I still had the same problem. It seems that it is triggered by something else, although I haven't been able to find the cause, maybe it is related to the editing of tags. In this context, I have also seen problems such as the collection not being updated when I edit the tags, but I haven't been able to find a consistent behavior up to now. I will keep you informed if I find a better way to trigger the bug. For now, I have copy/pasted the text format from advanced to a safe location as a work-around.
@Stephane: can you reproduce this in current 2.1 beta1 or SVN? You have reported the bug when still in 2.0.1 and many things have been changed since.
Closing for lack of feedback.
This issue has recently been observed by an Ubuntu user in Amarok 2.1.1 [https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/amarok/+bug/396233] That user (getaceres) has been pointed here to share their observations. Please reopen when they do so. Thanks!
Teo, is this fixed in trunk meanwhile?
It seems not, I must have forgotten about it. However I'm quite sure that this was implemented at some point so it's probably a regression. Anyway, I can confirm it now.
I'm getting this bug in Amarok 2.1.1. However, it only affects to the format composed through the drag and drop interface. If I select the "Advanced mode" and I put a custom format using tags, it remembers the format every time.
I can't test it currently in latest GIT as i have no other collection but local, and it crashes here while editing path settings. could someone test it in master?
Is this still valid in current git?
Since the "Organized Files" dialog has been disabled in Amarok 2.2.1, I close this for now. Please do only reopen if you can reproduce this with the next Amarok version that actually ships this feature...
