Description Andrey Borzenkov 2009-01-08 10:13:36 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

Using Mandriva cooker packages based on 4.1.85.

When moving inside of text field (including message body) using Left, Right or (in case of message body Up and Down) and pressing key one time too much cursor jumps to another field. This is pretty much annoying, especially whit key autorepeat, where user cannot even control how many characters KDE believed were entered.

IMHO pretty much standard method for moving between fields is TAB; as for cursor keys, they should not leave text input field. At least, an option to control it is quite nice.

Confirmed with kde 4.1.87 (openSuse).

I was just about to raise a bug about this when I finally found this one.

Happens to be in kmail 1.12.1 (KDE 4.3.1), and I've oddly only started noticing it recently.

Drives me nuts. :)

In KDE 4.3.4 the cursor jumps when using Up and Down keys - I find this great. No reaction on left and right

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
