Description Rolf Offermanns 2009-01-07 10:53:49 UTC
Version:           1.10.92 (using 4.1.87 (KDE 4.1.87 (KDE 4.2 >= 20090101)) "release 1.1", KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE:Desktop / openSUSE_11.1)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.27.7-9-pae

Reasoning: I have several mail accounts in kmail and some of them require a vpn connection to work.

I only use them when I am e.g. in my homeoffice. But then, I would like to have interval checking turned on.

If this option was toggleable via a dbus call, I could use it in my ifup/ifdown vpn scripts to enable/disable interval checking, to avoid recurring error messages about connection problems.

This also will be useful for power management software/script. So when the laptop is running on battery, I can disable the interval checking to save some cpu power.

you have : qdbus org.kde.kmail2 /KMail stopNetworkJobs
and qdbus org.kde.kmail2 /KMail resumeNetworkJobs

So it's will enough :)
