Comment 1 Milan Krivda 2009-01-02 21:16:23 UTC
I forgotten. Amarok 2 is trying to build collection (scanning), but on collection tab none song appear.

Sorry, but this question doesn't belong in the bug tracker, but more into our support forums or the mailing lists.

What you are experiencing is very likely issues with MySQL Embedded, which is often a result of wrong packaging. You can check on those errors by running the app with "amarok --debug".

Additionally, we have this document explaining how to use MySQLe correctly:

http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Development/MySQL_Embedded

PS: On SUSE it might suffice to simply install the "mysql" package. That's a known stupid packaging error of them.
Comment 3 Milan Krivda 2009-01-03 12:24:24 UTC
I dont mean that this problem is related to openSUSE. I have mysql installed. If i select at example only one folder (may be more) to scan, amarok will build my collection. Dependent on selected folder content, my collection will be build or not. When i change in preferences dialog different folder for my collection and rescanned collection, songs dont apper in my collection, but after quitting amarok and running again, scanning collection, songs appear.

You need to be clearer in your explanation. I understand that English might not be your native language, so perhaps it would be easier for you to describe the problem using bullet points or images?

Ok, in this case you've probably hit a bug in the collection scanner that I have fixed the other day.

Stay tuned for Amarok 2.0.1, soon :)

Comment 6 Milan Krivda 2009-01-03 16:01:31 UTC
Sorry, my bad. I try it to explain cleaner:

1.) My complete collection has newer been build (about 7000 files, 30GiB) with amarok2 (rc, beta1, beta2, stable, ...).
2.) Amarok 2 scan my collection, but none song appear in collection browser.
3.) If i reduced collection size for amarok (at example to one album) results hardly depend on folder content and fact if i haved collection db before amarok start or not:
A.) My collection was build and appeared in browser (none collection db was before running in amarok 2) or after amarok "restart" (i has collection db in amarok2)
B.) My collection was scanned but not appeared in collection browser (after restart too)
