Marcus, Look like the crash appears in libgphoto2. Camera is Canon, in PTP mode certainly. Gerry, Which libgphoto2 you use. Go to digiKam Help/Components Info dialog for details. Gilles Caulier
libGphoto2 2.4.3 FWIW biggest video I've tried to download
What camera/device is this? gphoto2 --auto-detect (I need to know the driver ;)
The camera is a Canon IXUS 75 Turns that gphoto2 isn't installed, will report back
Created attachment 29901 [details] ghoto debug file
Canon Digital IXUS 75 (PTP mode) usb: Canon Digital IXUS 75 (PTP mode) usb:001,007 fully charged camera battery while running gphoto2 -auto-detect (not --au...) found a command described as one that should be should run before moaning to gphoto mob env LANG=C gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile=my-logfile.txt -auto-detect it which generated a large wodge of output, reading the output indicates that it did something (no idea what) but camera now appears to be downloading OK
can you check if gphoto2 -P works and downloads all images + movies?
alas, hold that though, downloaded three avi files and then failure re-ran command in previous comment (black magic incantation principle) downloaded a few more failure ) re-run ) x2 download) then stopped working deleted a few of the success stories, (another black magic incantation) then got "failed to delete (continue?)" then got "failed to retrieve..." If this is all drivel, sorry
submitted same time as you, will try your suggestion with remaining files

Marcus, What's news here ? Gilles
i am afraid I have no idea. :(
Gerry, What's news here ? can you reproduce the crash with 0.10.0 stable release ? Gilles Caulier
Gilles > > What's news here ? can you reproduce the crash with 0.10.0 stable release ? Unfortunately, I do not have any large files to download from my camera. I will have in a few months time (I don't do much video...). Perhaps close it in the absence of others identifying it as a problem, and if it reappears, I'll report Gerry
Ok so I'll close it for now, feel free to re-open it (or create a new report). Marking it as UPSTREAM, since it seems to be related to gphoto. Andi
