Version: 1.10.3 (using KDE 4.1.3) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs I have more than 20 Mailfolders in KMail, and mor than ten of them are containing postings from a mailinglist. Normally i'm starting to read directly in the inbox, scrolling within a mail and switching from the current mail to the next unread mail with the spacebar. If the first folder doesnt contain any unread message the next keypress onto the spacebar switches to the next mailfolder which contains a unread message. But if i declare a folder as "it contains a mailing list", this folder will be ignored or skipped when i press the spacebar.
In kmail 1.10.92, it asks me if I want to go to the next folder, whenever the next folder contains a mailing list or not, and if I accept to go, kmail goes to that folder. Please, remember to check it again when you upgrade to kde 4.2.
In kmail 1.11.1 there are different shortcuts for "Go to next unread mail" and "Go to next unread folder". Last one is independent from the type of messages in a folder.
Updated some days ago to KDE 4.2.1 (opensuse-factory-repositories), same behaviour as before. Additionally, in the affected folders kmail doesnt show the number of unread mails, but it shows the folder-title in bold letters, when it has unread mails inside. Interesting: I've installed Kubuntu 8.10 lately, and it used the same home-directories as my opensuse-installation. I made an update in kubuntu to KDE 4.2.x. Surprisingly in Kubuntu all works as expected, all folders are shown as they should, they show the numbers of unread mails, and all folders will used at my way of "navigation" through it. And this even though kmail is using the same config-files and Mail-folder in both installations, because it uses the same home-directory. regards, Jens
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
