Version: 4.1.3 (using KDE 4.1.3) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages If you go to a site that needs authentification via SSL certificate one owns (for example https://www.myopenid.com/, but it is valid for all other sites), no matter what options are selected in the configuration of "Configure SSL, manage certificates, and other cryptography settings"-> "Authentification" tab, nothing works/is sent as certificate and no error is shown at all in console. This worked in KDE 3.5 not now in 4.1. :(
BTW there is no SSL icon in status bar or anywhere showing that the connection is encrypted with the option to show connection's properties...
Some problem here with openSuse 11.0 and 11.1 Worked with KDE3 but doesn't work with any KDE4 version (4.0 and 4.1.x) I tryed.
Confirmed with Konqueror 4.2.1
Confirmed with Konqueror 4.2.2 on Kubuntu 9.04

In 4.3, the dialog to configure certificates went away. I hope it is only hidden, because it is currently of no use. Related issue: Installing new CAs (like CACert.org) didn't work, either (installing it by editing the CA list as root sort of works). Is anybody working on kio to fix those problems? Related: Kmail also doesn't/can't use client certificates for authentication via SSL.
Currently testing KDE 4.3.2. I still cant configure/use client certificates, is anybody actually working on reimplementing this? I tried Kleopatra and imported my client certificates, but konqueror still refuses to connect to these hosts.

Please reopen as Andreas Hartmetz decided in bug #162485 comment #61 that bug #162485 shall not be a kitchensink of all kinds of SSL related bugreports.
Reopening, this is a useful report.
it has been almost a year since the last activity on this.
Hello, Any progress on this? The support for this in KDE 3 was good and straight forward. There is, at least, any workaround to get Konqueror (or Dolphin) working with client certificates?
my personal workaround: firefox 4.0.1. works fine. And for some reason its the default on openSUSE 11.4 anyways, even when you install kde4.
True, but Firefox doesn't support WebDAV (only the HTTP subset), and that's the main reason Konqueror/Dolphin interest me. Basically, WebDAV + Client certificate + Redirection support = Keep dreaming (Konqueror 3 supported that, though). Thanks a lot, anyway.
The reason why this does not work is because the code that sets the personal certificates is disabled in the lower levels of KIO. See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=167668.
Please check if this issue is still valid for Konqueror 4.8.4 or later.
still valid, and there also is no place to actually import a client certificate anyways. -> continuing to use firefox instead of konqueror.
Thank you for the fast feedback. Set the dependency to the KIO issue
