Description Garry Williams 2008-12-24 23:53:02 UTC
Version: 1.10.92 (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

When started, kmail opens with a width taking up the entire screen and a height of about half the screen and placed at the top of the screen. I resize the window to my preference. After closing and re-opening the screen geometry is back to the original. In previous releases, this was not the case.

I just updated from Fedora 10 current to fedora-kde testing repository.

Additional information: the screen geometry seems to be lost on restart only if I vertically maximize the kmail window before closing.

In kde 4.1.87 (opensuse unestable), the horizontal position is lost when the kmail main window is vertically maximized (middle mouse button in the maximize icon).

Valid in master:

1/ Start kmail, un-maximize it,
2/ Middle click on the maximize button,
3/ Drag the window horizontally to the right
4/ Quit & restart
5/ KMail is starting maximized vertically but aligned to the left

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
