Version: (using KDE 4.1.3) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Hi1 :-) I installed here a fresh copy of Kubuntu Intrepid (v.8.10) desktop AMD64, KDE v.4.1.3, kernel 2.6.27-9-generic, gcc v.4.3.2, dolphin v.1.1, kate v.3.1.3, konsole v.2.1, reboot v.0.3.9. I normally can logout-restart-poweroff correctly. There's only 1 problematic case: In the case I've given at konsole "sudo dolphin" and dealing with grub directory (mainly altering with kate the menu.lst), after saving the changes and closing kate, dolphin and konsole, I'm unable to logout. KDE is trying to logout, I can hear the logout sound and after a while, I'm at the front of a black screen with the white cursor (that I can move across the screen). Sometimes, the screen is white (instead of black), while some other I can also see at the background, kate with the menu.lst loaded. At the moment, although I can move the cursor, there is nothing to click at. Ctrl-alt-del and Alt-F combinations are inresponsible and the only solution I could think, is hitting ctrl-alt-backspace, that killed X and presented me the log on screen. There, I can restart or log on again (log on screen, is fully working). Another workarround for logging out, after (sudo) dealing with menu.lst, is giving at konsole: "sudo reboot". (Reboot is working OK). THANKS!!! :-)
well, an bug from 3 years ago. Is this still a problem?
