I was just thinking, wouldn't it be nice, to have the possibility to arrange the grouped elements like you want?

Currently the Directories are always displayed at the top, followed by the other filetypes

I don't know if it possible, but It would be really cool if you for example could just drag the grouped png-files and drop them above the  grouped directories, leaving them permanently above the directories, in every folder.

I attached two screenshots/mockups that may be helpful in visualizing my words :-D
