Description pguillon 2008-12-18 12:52:05 UTC
Version: 1.10.3 (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler:          cc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.27-10-generic

After having checked OK in the "Add new outgoing account box" in KMail configuration, I can see very briefly the new account appearing in the list, but it disappears immediately, making it impossible to create any outgoing account. All options of accounts, including Sendmail, behave the same way.

Please provide some more information on how to reproduce this bug. Am I right assuming you do:
1) Settings -> Configure KMail
2) Accounts / Outgoing
3) Add...
4) Enter your information and click Ok?
Comment 2 pguillon 2008-12-18 13:06:13 UTC
Exactly (excuse me).

failing configuration file

Hi,
I am sending you my mailtransports configuration file. After removing it, everything works fine. It seems I had no rights for reading it, I don't know why.

I checked and I'm sure that this is not kmail's fault but kubuntu's. Apparently this seems to happen with some of their packages. The original kubuntu bug is: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdepim/+bug/320999
