Description Rishad Bharucha 2008-12-14 04:54:41 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Hi. I'm running Kubuntu 8.10 (KDE 4.1.3) and Amarok 2.0 from the kubuntu-members-kde4 repo. My music collection is quite big (3,000+ songs) and is on a FAT32 partition. I've had this problem in the beta stage as well when I compiled Amarok 2 on Arch Linux as well. I asked on irc and tried a few commands.

"amarok --debug" gives the same output as "amarok" in the end which is here: http://pastebin.com/m53ee4a77

"amarokcollectionscanner -r /path/to/music" gives no weird output in the end.

When I tried copying a few files from my collection to a Music folder on my home partition, Amarok 2 managed to add them to the collection immediately.

If there is anything else I should try, please let me know.

PS: To be a bit more specific the Amarok 2 scanner hangs on 97% and then my CPU fan speed increases.
