Version: (using Devel) OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled sources system-config-printe-kde has a lot of Gnome dependencies through system-config-printer. This dependency chain should be circumvented somehow, either by reimplementing the functionality of system-config-printer which is needed, either with working with the system-config-printer developers to abstract the features that are in common for both KDE and Gnome.
Closing as invalid. This is a packaging issue. You should ask your distro packagers to split out the parts of system-config-printer needed by system-config-printer-kde. See this for example: http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/all/system-config-printer-common/filelist
And if I'm compiling from sources? These dependancies ARE stupid. You, system-config-printer-kde devs, should add the needed system-config-printer files/features in the system-config-printer-kde package. A kde function which depends on Gnome, even indirectly, is really annoying... KDE4 devs choices are sometimes really wierd...
