Version: version 1.1.80 (using Devel) OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled sources Its been a long dream of mine to see some sort of improvement in the KDE desktop regarding mouse sidebuttons. Konqueror never supported them and thus it was a waste to even have them. Thus i think its only right that dolphin should have this, as it is going to be our best file manager yet. A simple back/forward action is all i ask. I installed Firefox on my kde exclusive system and it worked. Its only resonable that this gets some support in out future KDE desktops. Keep up the good work--dolphin devs.
I don't understand, please elaborate.. "back/forward action"? Huh?? There is a back and a forward shortcut that is "settable" if that is what you mean. Needs more info.
I am sure she wants a default action for the special buttons from keyboard/mouse. When pressing left side mouse button, Konqueror/Dolphin should do a back (Alt+Left). The same goes for keyboards (ex. Microsfot Natural 4000 has a pair of Back/Forward buttons under the Space button). Firefox acts when those buttons are pressed, I believe the old Konqueror also did, but not the new Konqueror/Dolphin. The key codes sent are something in the line of XF86_Back, XF86_Forward.
Removing the NEEDSINFO tag as it is rather clear: the feature request is for back / forward operation in Dolphin of the back / forward mouse and keyboard hardware buttons.
We're in feature freeze now, but fust for the record: It seems that the Qt::MouseButton codes for these buttons are Qt::XButton1 and Qt::XButton2. I can't test that though because I don't have a mouse with these buttons.
