Description Martin Flöser 2008-12-11 19:41:27 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

I just used powertop and noticed that Amarok 2 is causing 80 wakeups per second when no music is playing. That's 20-25 % of all wakeups.

Message from powertop:
schedule_timeout (process_timeout)

When starting to play music number of wakeups increases to about 95 per second.

After restarting Amarok there are no wakeups. When I press play and stop again number of wakeups is again at about 80 per seconds.

It would be nice if there were no wakeups when not playing music.

If you need any more info from me for investigating the cause of the wakeups please ask.

The wakeups are actually caused by Phonon.

This is fixed in KDE 4.2 - Amarok/Phonon cause almost no wakeups when idle :)
