Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian stable Packages I have 2 email accounts in Kmail. Gmail and one from my university. I configured gmail as pop and my school account as IMAP(offline). The last school account causes crashes sometimes when it has to download emails.
If you can reproduce the crash at will, may you read http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports and post a complete backtrace here? Thanks :)
Hi, I have the same problem but only with small folders. If I reload a folder with 100-200 messages, all works OK. In the other hand, if I try to download the whole inbox (which is >6000 messages) kmail/kontact crash. I'll try to give you the complete back trace later. Thank you.

I am using KMail 1.11.0, KDE 4.2 RC1 4,1,96, release 78.1 from OpenSUSE KDE4:Factory repository. There are one POP and 5 IMAP accounts. Everything works fine, except one IMAP account. If a click on that folder KMail crashes (see backtrace above). This account has over 2000 Mails in it, 600 unread. The others are much smaller. The account is SSL secured, but one of the others, too. If I can do any test that could help, let me know.
When I press the "search for new mail" button the account is searched and the number of new mails change. KMail crashes at the moment a click on the folder to display the mails. Just read the bugs 173360 and 173359. For me (I am not a coder) they look very similar.
@Thomas: your crash is bug 179765 (already fixed in KDE4.2 final), however it may be unrelated to the original reporter one. Let's wait for his response. Thanks :)
No useful backtrace was provided for this bug report (see comment #1). Changing its status.
Closing the old crash reports which don't have a useful backtrace. Thanks.
