Version: neznámý (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) "release 55.1", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.0) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.18-0.2-pae Konqueror 3.5 has possibility to work with Access Control Lists (ACLs) of files (in "Advanced Permissions"). E.g. an user was able to give write permission on the given file to another user. But Konqueror and Dolphin in KDE 4.1 don't contain this very useful feature. It means that users must use uncomfortable command line programs such as setfacl to manipulate these ACLs in KDE 4.1.
Support for POSIX ACLs is unchanged and available in KDE 4 as it was in KDE 3.5. Why do you think it is not available?
Created attachment 29065 [details] Additional permissions in KDE 3 This is the "Additional Permissions" dialog in KDE 3.5. As you can see there is possibility to manage ACLs.
Created attachment 29066 [details] Additional permissions in KDE 4 This is the "Additional Permissions" dialog in KDE 4.1. As you can see there is no chance how to manage ACLs.
Where are have written "additional" in the previous comments (attachments) I have meant "advanced" of course.
Created attachment 29072 [details] ACLs in KDE 4 This is the ACL dialog as available currently in KDE 4.2. Note that this has been always available in the whole KDE 4 serie. Are you sure your file system is properly configured for ACLs, and your kdelibs was compiled with ACL support?
My file system is properly configured - both screenshots was made on the same file (once when using KDE 3.5 and once when using KDE 4.1, without any changes in filesystem mounting). But it is questionable whether kdelibs was compiled with ACL support. It is from the openSUSE 11 distribution thus I will ask there for it.
Why is this wish, still, open?
I cannot reproduce this issue in KDE 4.3.4 (OpenSuse 11.1) and trunk. I've the same ACL dialog as Pino attached in comment #5.
