Version:            (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

1. Open a single view of a directory.
2. Split left/right and navigate to a new directory in the right hand pane.
3. Switch to the left pane.
4. Split top/bottom

One expects the same behaviour as in KDE3: three visible panes; the left one split top/bottom and the right hand one unsplit.

In KDE4, the right hand pane disappears and has to be dragged back into view order to see all three panes.
