Description Anders Lund 2008-11-30 14:23:23 UTC
Version: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3), Arch Linux)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27-ARCH

I installed the alpha 64bit flashplayer from adobe (using the AUR package on archlinux) and found that konqueror loads it, but it doesn't do anything. It works fine with firefox.

There is a related (perhaps) problem on x86_64 using 32 bit flash player
10.0 r12 and using 32-bit versions of nspluginscan and nspluginviewer.
This used to work with 3.5.10.

Flash plugin loads and most of the time seems to crash while loading flash
testing page for youtube. Sometimes it works though. here is the test page:

                 http://www.youtube.com/swf_test.html

I do get the gdk errors:

(<unknown>:3054): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_get_origin: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed
konqueror(3047) KConfigGroup::readXdgListEntry: List entry mime in "/usr/share/kde4/apps/kjava/pluginsinfo" is not compliant with XDG standard (missing trailing semicolon).

The second mime error is easilty fixed by adding the semicolon.

I forgot to add that I am using kmplayer 0.11.0

I can confirm the problem in comment #2, but for me this is the case with latest 64bit flash (net-www/netscape-flash-10.0.20.7_alpha) on Gentoo and Konqueror 4.1.3 (didn't have that problem with 32bit and Konq 3.5.x before). Flash works "sometimes" on first load, but not on further page loads, though I "sometimes" can see a short flash of flash getting started, but then only white space. Even reloads can't get the flash stuff back. Starting Konqueror from the command line, I get the same GDK error as #2.

Exactly the same thing here happends when I try to watch a video in player made in flash embeded in websites like youtube, liveleak or such.
Sometimes regardless of this message video shows up but usually it is not.

Fedora 10 i686 (32bit)
 KDE 4.1.3
 kdenetwork-4.1.3-1.fc10.i386
 flash-plugin-10.0.15.3-release.i386

I found out that the suggestions in the following website for using kmplayer
with konqueror makes flash work just fine:

I can confirm this on my gentoo, im using the newest flash player 10 plugin available and the newest version of konqueror.

I hope they soon change to webkit, so this issue will be handled

Hello:

I'm using 64bit (Adobe) flash plugin version successfully on Debian sid (and testing) on kde 4.3.2 (and 4.3.1). Are you still experiencing the problems?

Thanks.

Are there java and adobe reader plugins available in 64 bit?
Comment 9 Raúl 2009-10-22 21:19:47 UTC
I couldn't say, but this bug is about flash, if you are concerned about other plugins, please file a new bug.
Comment 10 Anders Lund 2009-10-22 22:02:59 UTC
flash appearently works fine. I have a "start plugin" button in konqueror, but after pressing it, things usually works.
