Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources I cannot type anything using CJK input methods in QuickSand (task oriented user interface) so it is not possible to find applications whose names are translated into Japanese (e.g. SameGame into さめがめ) or by keywords (if supported). It might be a problem with my system but I cannot type accented characters like è or ë using dead keys either. It seems QuickSand only accepts direct input from keyboard.
Still present in 4.3.85, using UIM for input. When having toggled Japanese input (via Anthy), the roman letters just appear directly as they are typed, instead of waiting to be converted into CJK characters. When using the classic command-oriented style it works as expected, although with poor performance. (Characters appear in bursts ~750ms apart.)
[from bug 228355] It is impossible to use SCIM in QuickSand mode of krunner since it uses non-standard input widget. The same problem happens with ibus.

Plasma 5 no longer ships with the QuickSand interface. Marking the bug as FIXED.
