Description Alberto Torres Ruiz 2008-11-28 15:29:04 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

My laptop soundcard has the folowing channels:

Front: Controls front speakers and earphones
LFE: Controls subwoofer
PCM: Controls both BUT only for some things!! Also it doesn't have mute

Most ALSA apps works with PCM, but JACK (via alsa), OSS and KDE 4 sounds skip PCM entirely and I must change both Front and LFE, which is VERY annoying because I can't use a single hotkey, or sound strange if those are not the same level.

My request is to be able to select more than one channel as master channels, so they all changes at the same time when using the tray icon or the volume keys.

My soundcard is a hda-intel in a dell inspiron 9400, but i've seen other laptops with the same problem.
