Version: 1.98-14.7 (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources When I try to play mp3 file in amarok2.0, amarok does nothing. Following packages are installed. phonon-backend-xine-4.2.80-3.1 libphonon4-4.2.80-3.1 phonon-4.2.80-3.1 phonon-backend-gstreamer-0_10-4.2.80-3.1 amarok-xine-1.4.9.1-27.1 amarok-1.4.9.1-27.1 kde4-amarok-1.98-14.7 amarok-yauap-1.4.9.1-27.1 kde4-amarok-lang-1.98-14.7
Does Dragon Player play those mp3 files? And which version are you using exactly? The RC or current SVN?
Dragon Player doesn't show mp3 files in supported files. I'm using from opensuse unstable repository which is mostly svn. In about I see 1.98 only it doesn't tell if its rc or svn.
It seems something wrong with xine, I can't play using xine engine in amarok 1.4 also.
Ok this is pretty clearly not an Amarok problem then. Please refer to your distribution about how to get mp3 support for xine.
This is clearly a support issue, not a bug! In the future please use irc or the forum. You need to install the libxine-ffmpeg package (or similar)
I'll keep that in mind.

@Abel: Thanks for posting the backtrace but this bug is related to mp3 playback issue which is already resolved as downstream. Please file separate bug for crash.
