Description Louis Gogan 2008-11-26 20:02:11 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I upgraded kmail via synaptic last night and then turned off the computer. When I started the computer today kmail crashed as soon as I clicked on my personal folder. It did the same when I clicked on the sent email folder. Kmail just crashes and dissappears off screen. I restarted it and when I click on the deleted, drafts, outbox folders kmail doesn't crash - none of them have any emails in them. Only the 2 folders with emails in them seem to cause this problem. I didn't attempt to download any email in case I will not be able to access them.
Kmail version 1.9.10 using KDE 3.5.9

I DOWNGRADED Kmail to 1.9.9 and everything seems to work correctly - I only wanted to upgrade in case that annoyance with the kwallet was fixed - I'll never know!

All was ok until I turned off the computer. When I restarted it and started kmail it crashed again. When I checked the version it had returned to the latest kmail 1.9.10. Now, because the inbox has emails kmail crashes as soon as it shows up on the screen. I need to figure out how to permanently downgrade to kmail 1.9.9. This is very frustrating.

I'm afraid your KMail version is not supported anymore except for security issues.

Please consider upgrading your KMail version to 1.10.x (from KDE 4.1.x).

Moreover, you didn't provide any backtrace. If you still experience this crash with KMail/KDE4, please reopen this bug report and paste a backtrace.
