Version: 2.0.4 (using 4.1) Compiler: gcc OS: MS Windows For a better usability we have to improve Kleos decrypt dialog (in GpgOL): The user should sets an option if he wants to show/hidden a "decryption succeeded." message (like the option "Keep open after operation completed" in sign/enc message dialogs). Default setting: show dialog. Is this easy to realize? If not: Do the minimal solution. Minimal solution: Never show the "decryption succeeded" dialog. Only show a decrypt dialog if an error/conflict happens or other messages comes back from decryption. Background: Confirm/close every decryption succeeded dialog could be very nerved. This should be improved.
I second this wish! I receive a lot of messages that are digitally signed either using S/MIME or PGP. Each of these messages opens a separate Kleopatra window that needs to be closed again (I'm using Outlook 2007 with Gpg4Win - GpgOL, Kleopatra, ...). This is one of the major reasons why I currently cannot fully recommend Gpg4Win/Kleopatra. My recommendation to solve this issue: 1) Only show errors and signatures from untrusted keys in a separate window. I reckon the average user doesn't want to be informed if everything is alright. The only advantage I see is that currently a user does NOT get a message-box, if an e-mail is NOT signed and might get suspicious that it might be a fake e-mail. 2) Give feedback to GpgOL so that the plug-in can handle the results. My favorite solution would be a colored bar displayed above the messages (just as other email clients do it). 3) Maybe: Add some kind of auto-close function to the window, so that it will close automatically after 10 seconds (I use a multi-display screen and the kleopatra windows often pop up on the other screen so I won't even notice the 30+ windows ...)
Needs more discussion. I'll check this issue with current Kleopatra/GpgOL and Gpg4win.
Oh god, please add this option. Since every mail in my inbox is encrypted and I get a pop-up every time I click any email. Quite maddening.
