Description StanleyK 2008-11-24 11:57:05 UTC
Version: 1.9.10 (using 3.5.10, Kubuntu (hardy) 4:3.5.10-0ubuntu1~hardy1)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-21-generic

First note that I am using the translated version of KMail (Czech translation) and therefore the field names can be different.
I wanted to see the From (sender) field in my Sent folder, to exclude the e-mails that didn't belong to that folder. Therefore I right-clicked the column headings and checked "From (sender)". This field appeared in the list as expected. Now, when I right-click the column headings, there is no option "From (sender)", neither checked nor unchecked and I therefore cannot remove this column from the list. I really don't need to see the "From (sender)" field in my Sent folder, because all of the mails were sent by me. Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug? Thanks.
Stanley

The from field appears even when checked with KMail 1.10.x (from KDE4).

Please upgrade your KDE version since KMail for KDE3 is almost unmaintained now.

Okay, I could expect such an answer. Nevertheless, I won't upgrade my KDE version to KDE 4, until it is stable and usable. I have spent several days after the upgrade trying to restore all the things I had been used to. I gave up and reinstalled the previous KDE 3.x version, I have not so much time to investigate how to disable all the "pretty" but buggy features of KDE4.
The described bug sucks much, much less than all the crappy unfinished stuff in KDE4. Easy to live with, I would say. Thanks a lot for your understanding.
