Version:            (using KDE 4.1.3)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs

I have set up 3 accounts (5, 3 and 12 groups)

memory usage:
at starup 26mb
after get articles in all  201mb
after reading 6 groups and expiring 1 account 283
after 2nd get articles in all  423mb
after reading 4 more groups 526mb

How did you misure the knode ram usage?

RSS column in QPS also visually using sytem monitor applet (I have the kde3 panel running under kde4) I can see the used memory indicator drop when I close knode.

fyi - in KDE4.2beta the memory usage seems to be much better - it's stabalized at 139mb this morning after multiple updates
