Version: 1.10.3 (using KDE 4.1.3) Compiler: gcc 4.3.2 OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages i dont think ive ever found the status bar in the composer window useful (well, maybe once). being able to just hide it completely would be awesome. when i type e-mails, i dont care what col/row my cursor is at. that leaves spell checking, but that status info is already available via a button in the toolbar.
Isn't the component "composer" ?
i started a discussion about statusbars in general on the kde usability mailing list. https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-usability
What is the result?
Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding.
Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
yes, this aspect of kmail hasn't changed
I've been wishing for this for a long time. Any news?
A possibly relevant merge request was started @ https://invent.kde.org/pim/kmail/-/merge_requests/124
This is not something we will implement. The status bar is required as it contains a lot of information.
