Version: (using KDE 4.1.3) OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages KDE is striving to be be an user-friendly enviroment (or so I hear). Today, to make the default KDE's audio cd player actually play something, I had to manually type the ALSA device name ("default") in the settings dialog. Before I entered this and the field was blank, kscd didn't show an error, message, instead it claimed that there is no cd in drive. By my standards, this is not user-friendly.
I've just tried kscd from trunk, there isn't the possibility to select the audio device :-(
KDE 4.2 arrived, kscd became even less configurable and more ugly, and, what's important, still can't play an audio cd. In the tracklist there I can see the list of songs, but upon clicking 'play' it says 'no disc'. Please, do something with it...
Fortunatly on the SVN version (~4.3) kscd is able to reproduce audio CD, is not good looking, but it plays songs :-)
