Version: (using KDE 4.1.3) Installed from: SuSE RPMs removing widgets: add confirmation dialog The reason is that after removing the widget is it is tiresome to get it back -- not only the user has to add the widget but also has to reorder all the other widgets already placed in the panel. Seconds before I clicked accidentally LMB instead of RMB and my taskbar was gone. I knew how to get it back surprisingly it took some time to "undo" the removal -- i.e. set the previous layout. Thus: please provide confirmation dialog with option "do not show this dialog again" maybe if some power user thinks it is too safe to have this dialog.

This idea has had almost 200 votes on Brainstorm (http://http://forum.kde.org/brainstorm.php#idea83820). It was filed here 1 1/4 years ago and has exactly one vote (or had until I added 10), is still marked as unconfirmed. There is something wrong with the Brainstorm/bug tracker system when a popular and very crucial request such as this one gets stalled by a second round of votes like this. The Brainstorm request got locked because it was filed here. And then, nothing happened. Maybe something should happen to the concept of Brainstorm? :-)
This is a sorely-needed feature! I just accidentally removed an applet that I once, long ago, spent much time adjusting. Luckily for me I keep my ~/.kde/share/config in bzr, so I was able to recover it. All I ask is a simple "Remove widget?" confirmation box. Undo would be nice, but a simple confirmation would be no problem to add and would avoid problems like this.
Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
