Description MartinG 2008-11-14 11:02:26 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.2)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

I use the alt-F2 minicli a lot in KDE4. And I am a fast typer using a not that fast laptop. Often when I enter a command in the minicli, and press enter (before the minicli has caught up), it results in the wrong command being launched.

For example, if I do a fresh login, press alt-F2 and start "kontact", and then later want to start "konsole", I press alt-F2 again, type "kons" and immediately press enter. This will result in "kontact" being launched rather than "konsole", even though "kons" is not part of the string "kontact".

It seems to me that minicli is processing the enter keypress before it is finished looking up matches of the string given. I consider this a bug, not a feature :)

I'm using Fedora Rawhide, kdelibs-4.1.2-5.fc10.i386.

Thanks,
MartinG

It happens to me too :-(

(P.S: bug moved to krunner, the new "minicli" of KDE4)
