Version: 0.10svn (using KDE 4.1.3) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Hi I'm using digikam 0.10 svn. When I try to use the print assistant nothing happens... ok step by step, I select one or several jpeg files, and open print assistant, it opens and displays the images in the overview view on the second page... but when I select send to gimp or print directly nothing happens after finishing the assistant, when output to file is selected, I can't finish the assistant, the button is blocked... In the crop and rotate view, I get a white square with a red cross, no images are displayed... Anyway, I'm looking forward to have that possibilities at hand, very usefull! Greets, mike
Print Wizard kipi-plugin is under port to KDE4 by Angelo. it's not yet complete, like it's explained in kipi-plugins 0.2.0-beta3 release announce. you must be patient... Gilles Caulier
I will be patient, thanks for your information! I didn't know, where to look for it... And I didn't know if it was known... Sorry. Should that report stay open? Greets, mike
>Should that report stay open? I lets Angelo decide about... Gilles
Gilles, please add me in CC next time, i can miss some mails otherwhise :) Yes let this bug stay open. At the moment i'd like to finish printwizard, then i will port print api also into digikam. Gilles if needed for final release i could try to port print api in digikam first, in the case ping me time before :) Reporter if you want to print some photos in kde4 you colud use print menu from gwenview by now.
Angelo, About digiKam print features, sure it must be fixed for final release. But like digiKam 0.10.0 will be delayed certainly around February 2009 (KDE 4.2 release date), you can complete PrintWizzard first. Currently Print code in digiKam is disable as well. Thnaks in advance for your help Angello. And let's me hear if you need help with PrintWizzard port. Gilles
I tested the current version, works up to now very well. Thank you very much! Is there a possibility to scale in the cropping dialog, if not may I request that feature? cheers, mike
do you mean scale instead of cropping? well I'm working on it, but it should have been a surprise...
I mean scale and crop if possible, but scaling instead will be fine for now... sorry for triggering the spoiler, but I'm really looking forward to it! Nice job! greets, mike
I've been playing around a little further, trying to make some contact sheets... it works well but I'm missing a little feature, namely I've selected several RAW files (14 MP) to put 8 on an A4 page and send it to gimp... it works well but the resulting file is huge, around 150MP, so an outputscaling say to 300 dpi (or free) would be nice... thanks again. cheers, mike
At the moment you're lucky, print to gimp does not work here... i was about to disable it... but if you use it i will try to fix it up. Another thing it does not work here is my hp printer setting, it seems i missed the bordless printing now... i will check with other applications, but i believe it's not my fault, i always get borders even in full bleed mode :/ What I'm going to release is avoid cropping, not a free scale support by now. I don't know if i can do that, at least not now. Feel free to open new bugs/wishes, since print support is in now i will close this soon.
Well digikam now prints :) It does by using print assistant or printimages plugins or by using showphoto.
With new PrintCreator from digiKam core version 5.7.0, avaialble in AlbumGUi, Image Editor, LightTable or Showfoto, this problem in not reproducible... Gilles Caulier
