Description Brian Jamison 2008-11-12 19:44:28 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I've been doing this for a year with Kubuntu 8.04. With 8.10 this causes a fatal error.

Laptop: HP Pavilion dv9610us
External monitor: LG Flatron L227WTG

I plug in an external monitor to my laptop and using nvidia-settings, configure the new monitor with TwinView, positiong "Above," with the laptop monitor checked as the primary display. When I select apply I get a fatal error dialog Signal 6 (SIGABRT).

(Setting the external monitor as primary display works, but doesn't allow me to move windows fully into the laptop monitor, presumably because the taskbar is on the bottom of the external monitor).

Backtrace:
Application: KWin (kwin), signal SIGABRT
