Description Marcus Harrison 2008-11-08 23:15:04 UTC
Version: (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27-7-generic

If you tear off a panel (or any number of panels) in the KOffice applications and shift the main window across to another desktop - you suddenly have a useless application: the toolbars/panels stay on one desktop while the main window is in the other. If you shift to the desktop with toolbars/panels - they disappear because the application has lost focus!

Technically, this CAN be fixed by merely having toolbars/panels forced to all desktops using KWin configuration, but this looks ugly when using the Desktop Grid plugin.

Although, having tested this with other applications (Konqueror/dolphin) This looks like a consistent problem across KDE...

Bug confirmed with KDE 4.5.2

Not tested with koffice, but konqueror toolbar and it's taken with the main window what makes sense since the handling of transient windows has seen major changes and i'm pretty convinced i fixed that by https://svn.reviewboard.kde.org/r/4080/ ;-)

Fantastic news! I completely forgot about this bug. I stopped using Virtual Desktops in favour of Activities, but it's awesome to know it's fixed :)
