Version: 1.10.1 (using 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-19-generic Sorry for posting two bugs in one, but I don't care on the second one actually as it is just a temporary inconvinence that I will never experience after the KMail is configured. Please ignore it if you want. So.The problem is that I can't check the mail. The IMAP server requires SSL and PLAIN authentication. I have used KMail with KDE 4 previously with Kubuntu 8.04 and it worked fine(not sure on the vesions - but have updated the system on the weekly basis). After migrating to Kubuntu 8.10 - facing problem (authentication failed). Sorry, can't provide the exact message as now it says that it cannot connect - possibly the servers are down due to maintanance works, will attach the screenshot later on if needed. The server doesn't use the default port (993) if that can help. The second problem is minor one - the Configure KMail screen seems to have the minimal size when resizing and I can't see OK buttons etc. (Actually I can see them through the transparent panel, but anyway can't access them). The maximize button works fine however it remains after maximising the screen - the Restore button excpected. Hopefuly, the Enter button works for OK :). Sorry - almost forgotten - using 1280x800 resolution Thanks
The exact message: Authorization failed, Unable to authenticate via PLAIN. The server imap.***.ru replied: Authentication failed. Tried "Clear text" (the second allowed option after 'Check what server supports'): Authorization failed, Unable to login. Probably the password is wrong. The server imap.***.ru replied: Authentication failed. authentication not supported Surely the password was double-checked
hm can you check with another imap client to make sure it isnt a serverside error? also kde 4.1.3 is out, can you check with kmail from this version? the 2nd thing should be fixed in 4.2 or beta 4.1.73.
Yes - cause have to use Evolution instead of native client. sergey@zxcvbnb:~$ kmail --version Qt: 4.4.3 KDE: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) KMail: 1.10.3
seems to be working in KDE 4.2 beta 2
