Comment 1 Stephan Kulow 2008-10-31 06:43:46 UTC
what's the output if you start from a terminal?
Comment 2 Stephan Kulow 2008-11-01 07:57:02 UTC
clara@clara:~$ kpat
QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
ASSERT: "!pixmap().isNull()" in file
/build/buildd/kdegames-4.1.2/kpat/card.cpp, line 470
KCrash: Application 'kpat' crashing...
sock_file=/home/clara/.kde/socket-clara/kdeinit4__0

That is a ubuntu bug then. Please report there

Comment 10 Albert Astals Cid 2008-12-23 22:28:06 UTC
Can you guys verify that doing
KDE_LANG=en_US kpat
from a shell makes it work?
Comment 11 dmoyne 2008-12-25 19:12:53 UTC
yes when doing so it works fine ; now what is the fix to avoid that.
Regards.
Comment 12 Stephan Kulow 2008-12-26 19:10:38 UTC
please get this into launchpad, I can't do anything here. It works fine in german and french locale with both kde 4.2 and 4.1 branch
Comment 13 Albert Astals Cid 2008-12-26 19:37:06 UTC
No, it's a bug in libkdegames, see the patch i sent to kdegames mailing list.

SVN commit 901864 by aacid:

use the untranslated deck name when reading/writing to disk, otherwise swithching langs causes decks not to be found
Also make frontTheme and backTheme check the theme that they are returning and if does not exist, return the default one

I use Kubuntu Intrepid and latest KDE update (4.1.4) apparently fixed the problem.
