Description Elan Ruusamäe 2008-10-23 14:36:59 UTC
Version: unknown (using 3.5.10, PLD Linux Distribution)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (PLD Linux)
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.25.15-1

currently when smart quoting is turned off, the recognizing and cutting off from signature leader "\n-- \n") is turned also off

i would like these options being turned on/off independently.

thanks!

Isn't that what smart quoting is supposed to do (i.e. remove the signature)? I am not sure I understand, can you elaborate on it a bit more?
Comment 2 Elan Ruusamäe 2008-10-28 01:00:07 UTC
smart quoting is merging lines in reply quoting. there are plenty of documents that google returns on that.

this likely explains it the best:

or this

i even found similar request (no idea where it was written to)

Ok, I am sorry. I didn't know that. I am reassigning this to the kmail developers.

PS: I am setting version to 1.10.1 as I can confirm in 1.10.1 that disabling smart quoting also disables removing the signature from the reply.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
