Version: (using KDE 4.1.2) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs In Konqueror in KDE3 there was option "Rename icons inline" that was very useful when you want to quickly change the entry name. Now you must use context menu option or use Properties dialog (which behaves strange, because at start selects entry name without extension and quickly deselects a whole name).
Hi Emdek, Try Settings->Configure Dolphin...->General->Rename inline. I suppose that's what you want?
Sorry, I've just realized that I got something wrong. "Rename icons inline" in KDE 3 seems to be something different. But in my Konqueror 3.5.10 (Kubuntu), this option seems to have no effect. No matter if I click an icon or the text below it: the file is opened.
@Frank Reininghaus: I think that it works (KDE3) only when "double click to open" mode is used (in Mandriva by default), probably Kubuntu uses single click mode. And I don't know how it could work in single click mode (I don't know if there is currently equivalent for that mode in KDE3). Maybe name could become editable after hovering over it (for example 3 seconds), or something.
Thanks for the hint! After changing to double-click mode, renaming inline does indeed work in Konqueror 3.5.10 for me. I think it's slightly confusing that an option is offered without telling the user that it does not have any effect in single-click mode (which is standard probably not only in Kubuntu). Maybe this should be considered if this feature is implemented in KDE 4.x.
Any chances to fix this regression soon? This will be (or already was done) "fixed" in Nautilus (as one of Canonical hundred paper cuts).
