Version: 0.60.2 (using 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27-6-generic I'm not sure if this should go in some existing report, like bug #139115. However, since the identity system seems to have been reworked for KDE 4 and these are reports for the old version, I'm opening a new one. If this is a bug or a wish is not clear to me. I would expect that the avatar and nicknames of the parent identity would be applied to its children accounts. This isn't happening, at least for MSN and GMail accouns. I also can't find an option to force accounts to use global or identity settings.
I can confirm the problem, to set the nickname and avatar on msn i have to do it from the account's settings and not from the identity's settings.
Can't do it for a jabber account, though, since there seems to be no way to set the picture on such an account. So since they don't inherit the picture from the identity, there doesn't seem to be able to set a picture at all for jabber accounts.
Same bug here, avatar works with msn but not with jabber :(
same here, but changing the avantar on the first tier identity changes none subaccount's avatar. Kopete 0.70.0 KDE 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0) (gentoo)

Ok now it works with msn but still not with jabber
Problem does still exist with Jabber on KDE 4.3.1/Kopete 0.70.90! Changing it to "bug", as it is IMHO a not-working feature which is expected to work.

This comment is rather OT, but I'm a bit puzzled as to how this has been marked as a dupe of a LATER bug. I thought that that wasn't supposed to happen, and that the later bugs were supposed to be marked as dupes of the earlier one? Did that convention get changed?
no, the convention hasn't changed. we will just mark earlier bugs as duplicates of later bugs if later bugs have more information.
Which doesn't seem to be the case for this couple of bugs...
