Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources I think this is the same bug as bug 48841 but, since that was for another version of KMail, I decided to create a new one. Sorry if I should have done otherwise. Using an external editor in the composer, if I press keys like Ctrl, Shift or Alt (alone), the external editor is launched, even if it shouldn't. I noticed it when I pressed Ctrl+Enter to send the mail and got the "The external editor is still running." message box, but it happens for all keys (of course, the focus should be in the message widget, not in the From, To, Subject or other widgets).
I can confirm this bug, in ubuntu 8.10 KMail Version 1.10.3 Using KDE 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3)
Confirm with 4.2.0. In effect I cannot send/queue a mail without first choosing to "abort editor".
