Description Aardwolf 2008-10-05 12:56:07 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package

I'd like to suggest having the behaviour of the "F3" key of Kate back like it was in KDE 3.5, namely, if you search for a word in one document, then open another one (e.g. by clicking on another document in the list on the left side) and press "F3", it also searches for that same word there.

That is much more useful for coding with Kate and searching function names.

For some reason in KDE 4, Kate has independent different search words in each document, which turns out to be annoying and unproductive.

Or at least make it an option - maybe the independent keyword for each file was made because it's productive for another application, but for what I do with Kate it's the opposite so having it as option can make kate productive for everyone! :)

I think this is a dup of bug #164416. Please re-open if necessary.
