Version: (using KDE 4.1.1) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs KDE should have support for predictive text input. This method of input is used by devices like iPhone/ipod touch, internet tablets and phones, where keyboards are limited. If KDE is to be used in such devices, it should have built-in pervasive support for this. And not only would this benefit such ultra-mobile devices. I don't see any reason why this wouldn't support "normal" computers as well. Especially netbooks, with their cramped keyboards. I think that the work to support this is already halfway done. KDE already supports spellchecking, and this is in many ways related to it. The difference is that whereas spellchecking simply marks the words as mistyped, this system proactively fixes them, and suggests words even before the user has finished typing them.
I think this is a kdelibs thing, maybe a good addon to the now only spellchecking capable Sonnet
Hi, kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years. KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have implemented this wish. If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue. We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.
