Description Victor Marin 2008-09-20 13:24:10 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

In past editions of Gwenview (KDE 3) it was included the option of smoothing the pixels of the pictures.

It was a quite nice feature when zooming the images... However, it is not longer available this option in the KDE 4 version of Gwenview.

I just would like that this option continues to be included in Gwenview (as it is also included in most image viewers nowadays).

In KDE 4, Gwenview tries to be smart with regard to pixel smoothing when zooming in an image: it will smooth pixels if zoom is between 100% and 200%, because this can happen if you are looking at a picture which is a bit smaller than your screen.
If you continue zooming in, it will stop smoothing pixels, assuming zooming at more than 200% means you want a precise display, for example because you are fine tuning the crop edges of a screenshot.
Does it make sense to you?

Thanks for your answer.

I think that the question here is related to one single word: "options".

Further, indeed Gwenview 3.x.x it had lots of nice options. Gwenview 4.x.x it does not have most of those (yet, at least).

Automating some options it may be good for some scenarios but, in my (humble) opinion, not-options it's not any better than to have options or preferences.

Needless to say, I love Gwenview 3 and not so much its fourth version so far.
